Security and GDPR
Parishioner details are a matter of trust. These are the principles we are building Convivia on.
A special category of data
Data revealing religious beliefs belongs to the special categories in Article 9 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). That is why Convivia is designed so a parish collects only what it needs and always knows why it keeps it.
Our principles
- Minimal data. Only the fields the parish needs.
- Recorded consent. When and for what each member gave consent.
- Access roles. The priest, the council and volunteers see only what concerns them.
- Member rights. Export, correction and deletion on request.
- EU hosting. Our goal is for application data to be hosted in the European Union.
- Encryption. Connections over HTTPS only.
The parish's role
The parish remains the data controller for its members' details. Convivia will act as a processor, under a data processing agreement (DPA).
